6/1/08.  Unfortunately, I had some problem accessing these practice quizzes; however, I think that you may find them helpful.

Chapter 14    Chapter 15    Chapter 16    Chapter 17       Chapter 18 (These questions are not exclusively Chapter 18)

5/24/08.  Quiz 6 for Wednesday, May 28, 2008.  On a single sheet of paper, illustrate (graph) and explain which fiscal policy approach you favor -- active or passive.  (I don't care which you chose.  I just want to read sound arguments for your position.)  At the top of the page type Quiz 6, your name, and your class (Economics 1A).  The explanation should be typed, but the graph can be freehand.

Study questions for the remaining chapters will be posted Monday.

5/21/08.  Alternative video for the writing assignment.  Ben Bernanke, Fed Chair at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzi7DhKbHOU

5/7/08.  Short video about John Maynard Keynes.  President Bush on fiscal policy.

4/24/08.  Formerly we measured GNP (Gross National Product) and now we measure GDP (Gross Domestic Product); however, we should be careful to fully understand exactly what we are and are not measuring with GDP.  You Tube video.

The quiz for April 30 will cover chapters 8, 9, and maybe a couple of questions from chapter 10.

4/10/08.  The midterm exam will cover through page 161.  We will move a little faster in the second half of the semester to catch up.

2/23/08.  Welcome to Economics 1A.  This is macroeconomics which covers the study of principles of aggregate economic analysis; economic cycles including recession, unemployment, inflation and economic growth; national income accounts; money and financial institutions; monetary and fiscal policy; alternative economic viewpoints; budget deficits and public debts; international trade and finance.     Check this page if you have to miss a class and before each quiz or exam.

The 8th edition of our textbook has just been published which means that the resale value on the 7th edition that we are using this semester will be low or maybe zero, so it will pay to purchase the text as cheaply as possible.
